The Tulelake NWR encompasses almost 40,000 acres of mostly open water and croplands. A 12 mile auto tour route allows wildlife observation year-round. Large geese flocks, grebes, herons, egrets, hawks and eagles, towhees, wrens, titmouse, White-throated sparrows, and Northern Mockingbirds are only the start of regulalrly seen bird species on this route.
