Finding a venue in Klamath is easy with hundreds of miles of trails, historic stadiums, baseball, softball and soccer complexes, collegiate level venues, all-purpose fairgrounds event center, a sportsman’s park, geothermally heated swimming pool, indoor and winter sports facilities, and well over 100 square miles of recreational water to choose from!
Steen Sports Park, a premier athletic facility in Southern Oregon on 150 acres, features four baseball diamonds, five soccer fields, picnic areas, two playgrounds, concession stands, and a cross-country jogging path. Steen Sports Park is a family oriented facility dedicated to promoting physical health & fitness in a safe attractive environment. You can also find 3.15 mile jogging path, 10,000 sq. ft. indoor baseball/softball facility and 60,000 sq. ft. sport facility.
Mike’s Fieldhouse (Michael L. Wendt Memorial Fieldhouse) is a state-of-the-art 60,000 square foot indoor soccer facility with an Astro-Turf field. Mike’s has hosted many events other than soccer ranging from corporate picnics and birthday parties to cross Fit tournaments and charity auctions.
Bill Scholtes Klamath Sportsman’s Park
The Bill Scholtes Klamath Sportsman’s Park is situated on 345 acres and features an archers field course and pin course, 50 yard pistol course, 200 meter and 600 yard rifle ranges, four wheel drive and off-highway courses, motocross track, and radio controlled aircraft flying field.
Klamath County Fairgrounds
The Klamath County Fairgrounds were established in 1902 and now is an integral part of Klamath County. Young and old alike, in and out of the community, use the facilities for all types of events. Its family oriented events provide activities and entertainment for everyone. The “basic philosophy” is to provide a valued service to citizens and pledges to provide the highest level of quality entertainment, to provide educational opportunities, and to provide an affordable facility with an enjoyable and comfortable atmosphere.
Multi-Purpose Buiding
Kiger Stadium is one of two original wood stadiums in the U.S. with over 60 years of history. The ballpark has been home to tens of thousands of American Legion, Babe Ruth League, college and high school games throughout the years.
Bill Collier Ice Arena
Located just inside the entrance to the Running Y Ranch Resort, the Bill Collier Community Ice Arena features a 200′ x 85′ refrigerated ice sheet that is protected from weather by a tensile fabric, pavilion-style roof. The open arena provides an outstanding view of the surrounding countryside, continuing the long tradition of outdoor skating in the Klamath Basin.
Ella Redkey and Malin Pools
Ella Redkey Pool
Ella Redkey Pool is a geothermally-heated, outdoor pool that is operational year-round. The pool is 25 yards with 11 lap lanes and ranges in depth from 3 to 10 feet. Swimming at the Ella Redkey Pool is truly a unique experience; while the air temperature may be below freezing, the water temperature is an inviting 85°. Nothing compares to swimming outdoors in the snow! The Ella Redkey Pool offers variety of water aerobic classes, lap & public swim opportunities, a masters’ program, lifeguard training courses, private parties, swim lessons, special events, and much more. The pool is home to Klamath Basin Aquatics, the Basin’s year-round, youth swim club, and also home to four high school swim teams: Henley, Klamath Union, Mazama, and Lost River.
Malin City Pool
The Malin City Park offers beautifully kept grounds perfect for company picnics, weddings, reunions, and more. The park also contains baseball, softball an soccer fields, horseshoe pits, a stage area, jogging, walking, and nature paths, and hosts the Tin Man Triathlon annually. One of the parks most prominent features is the 6 lane wide, 25 yard long, outdoor pool open seasonally from mid-June through August. The Malin Pool also features a diving board in the deep end while water depths range from 3 feet to 9 feet.
Oregon Tech
Oregon Institute of Technology, one of seven public universities in Oregon, offers a variety at athletics to students. With state-of-the-art facilities for baseball, basketball, cross country, rugby, soccer, softball, track and field, and volleyball. The famed Danny Miles Court has a Gym Capacity – 2135, Video Boards – two large six foot by ten foot full color boards, student, reserved, and general seating.
Built by Dreamland Skate Parks, Klamath Skate Park in Southern Oregon features five bowls – three of which have pool coping as well as a snake run and a few street elements. The bowls range in difficulty from the aptly named Monster Bowl, a huge bowl full of waves, transitions, and other challenging features, to the Beginner Bowl, a five-foot bowl designed for newbies to learn to drop in and a few basic tricks. 22,500 sq ft.
Arnold Palmer Signature Golf Course
Running Y Ranch Resort is home to the only Arnold Palmer designed course in Oregon, and golfers from around the globe are blown away by the challenge and jaw-dropping setting. The course was honored by Golf Digest as one of “America’s 100 Greatest Public Golf Courses” and it is consistently recognized as one of the best golf courses in Oregon. When Arnold Palmer was asked to pick a favorite golf course from his many designs, he did not choose one, but 16. The list has become known as Arnold’s “Sweet 16”, and Running Y Ranch Resort is proud to be a member.
