Klamath Lake Land Trust has gained special permission to access Buck Island from the land owners (this is a privately owned island) for this rare opportunity to visit this very special place. We will be meeting at 10:00 am at the Cove Point Boat Launch, which is also privately owned

Join KLLT and the Klamath County Museum for this rare excursion to Buck Island. Enjoy the natural beauty of the island, including oak woodlands. Todd Kepple of the Klamath County Museum will be co-leading this outing and providing historical and cultural educational information in addition to ecological and environmental education about this very special place.

Wear leather hiking boots! Rattlesnakes inhabit this island. Bring a hat, sunscreen, bug repellent, water, and a lunch or snacks for this rare opportunity to visit Buck Island. KLLT has boats available to transport folks from Cove Point to Buck Island. We will be hiking 2 to 3 miles on uneven terrain. No dogs allowed on any KLLT hikes/outings.

KLLT adheres to "Leave No Trace" and "Leave No One Behind" policiies and we ask that participants do the same. If a participant needs to leave the group early due to an emergency, a KLLT representative will accompany and assist that person back to their vehicle.

This is a family friendly event. If you have children attending, please contact Lisa at (541) 884-1053 OR lisa@klamathlakelandtrust.org so that we may have an accurate count of registrants. There is a waiver of liability form which may be reviewed and signed on the day of this event.
