This is the weekly road ride which will be leaving from Zach’s Bikes.
We will be alternating between three routes. Clockwise loops at Running Y, Counter-clockwise loops at Running Y, and either the Flat Road Ride or the Old Fort route depending on what group you join. The Old Fort route is an out and back and can be shortened as time allows and does have some improved gravel that while perfectly suited for a gravel bike, can be done on a road bike.
Our normal pace is designed in such a way that we stop (or slow down) to regroup several times throughout the ride (as we complete certain sections).
We will be using and practicing proper riding etiquette. If you are unfamiliar with riding in a group, we recommend reviewing some tips (see store for further resources). There are many reasons riding in a group are beneficial (it’s hugely more efficient, it’s motivating and it’s social are just a few reasons) but safety precautions need to be adhered to.
Drop bar road bikes with smooth tires in the 23-35 mm range are the most appropriate. Helmets are required. Blinking lights, flat repair kits, a snack and water are highly recommended. If you have questions about your current equipment or do not have adequate equipment, please give the shop a heads up at least 30 minutes before the ride and we should be able to come up with something for you.
