Nine Performances
November 8th to November 30th, 2019
Sunday Matinee on November 24th
Have you ever wondered what brides-maids talk about when the wedding is over and the champagne is flowing? You can find out what five of them dis-cuss in this hilarious and heart-warming play.
Set in the home of the bride in Knox-ville, Kentucky, during the newly-married couple’s ostentatious wedding reception, the five bridesmaids have found refuge in the bedroom of Meredith, the bride’s rebellious, pot-smoking sister.
In addition to Meredith, the four other bridesmaids include Georgeanne Darby, Tracy’s high school and college sidekick, Trisha. a former friend and jaded beauty with a suspect reputation, Frances, the very naïve and religious cousin of the bride, and Mindy McClure, the groom’s clumsy and outspoken lesbian sister. Only one man, a cousin of the groom, ventures into the room in hot pursuit of Trisha.
As the five bridesmaids, who are all wearing the same dress, discuss sex, life and love (and the bride and groom, among various others at the wedding), they come to realize that, despite their differences, they have more in common with each other than any of them do with the bride. More than one of them comes away from this fateful afternoon with a different view of their life and the future.
