Sycan River Camp Out-Swim-Hike-Geology-Stargazing
July 11 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
The Klamath Lake Land Trust property of 785 acres along the Sycan River, includes two miles of riverfront, two historic homesteads, springs, and an unusual rock canyon. We will drive on a rough road and hike down a steep hill to reach the homestead. After a picnic, we can splash in the stream and hike up to the canyon, talk with a lichenologist and well rounded naturist, Steve Sheehy, regarding the region. Then we’ll set up camp and later do some stargazing. This is a great opportunity to see major wildlife, birds, wildflowers, and the Sycan River. Total miles 2-4. The exact meeting location will be emailed the week prior to the event.
