Klamath Basin Audubon is cooperatively teamed up with USF&WS to present Canoe/Kayak trips at Wood River Wetlands, Saturday, June 4. An initial trip is geared for Audubon members, and later, there are three guided trips for the general public. It’s a great time to experience paddling through a wetland!
The Klamath Basin Audubon fieldtrip by Canoe/Kayak begins at 8 AM from Petric Park and will travel up to Wood River bridge and back. This trip plans to be back at the launch area by 9:15, unless you have your own equipment. Please contact Kevin Spencer, 541-880-8015 if planning on attending. Birdwatching from the entrance road into Wood River Wetland is being planned in addition, after returning from the 8 AM canoe/kayak trip, and will start at approximately 9:30 am. You can attend one or both. The birdwatching will conclude at around 11:30 or early afternoon.
Guided Canoe/Kayak trips for the general public, including families or individuals, will take place at 9:30 am, 11:00 am, and 12:30 pm. (See attached flyers). They also will start at Petric Park. As noted in the flyers, equipment is being provided by USF&WS, so having this experience can happen for those who don’t have a canoe or kayak. If interested in one of these trips, please call Kevin Spencer: 541-880-8015 to reserve a time.
A map and directions to Petric Park is included in the flyers.
As with all outdoor trips, please come prepared with snacks, water, hat, and sunscreen.
